1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your location data
- Your camera feed or any images you scan
- The content of any QR codes or barcodes you scan or generate
- Device identifiers, IP addresses, or advertising IDs
- Crash reports or analytics data
2. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
Scanify stores the following data exclusively on your device using your
phone's local storage:
- Scan History - QR codes and barcodes you have scanned or generated
- Favourites - scans you have marked as favourite
This data never leaves your device. We have no access to it whatsoever.
You can delete it at any time from within the app via the History screen.
3. CAMERA PERMISSION
Scanify requests access to your device's camera solely to scan QR codes
and barcodes in real time. We do not record, capture, transmit, or store
any images or video from your camera. The camera feed is processed entirely
on-device and is never sent anywhere.
4. PHOTO LIBRARY / GALLERY PERMISSION
If you choose to scan a QR code from an image in your gallery, Scanify
requests read access to your photo library. We only read the specific image
you select. We do not browse, copy, upload, or store any photos from your
device.
5. INTERNET ACCESS
Scanify may use internet access solely for the following:
- Opening URLs found in scanned QR codes (in your browser)
- Opening your email app when a scanned code contains an email address
- Redirecting you to the Google Play Store for sharing or viewing other apps
We do not use the internet to transmit any scan data, personal information,
or analytics.
6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Scanify does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs,
tracking tools, or crash reporting services. We do not use Google Analytics,
Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any similar service.
The only third-party component used is Google ML Kit for on-device barcode
detection. ML Kit processes data entirely on your device and does not send
scan results to Google's servers.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Scanify does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including
children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, the app is
safe for all ages.
8. SECURITY
Since all data is stored locally on your device and we collect nothing on
our servers (we have no servers), the security of your data depends on your
device's own security. We recommend using a screen lock on your device.
9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be
reflected with a new "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued
use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
